Vandermeer Hair was born from the desire to create beautiful hair in the slow lane. After many years of experience within busy salons, Carly sought a space where she could craft a beautiful experience for her clients which centred around a truly holistic approach to hair wellness; a space where her clients could melt into their chairs and feel nourished and relaxed upon leaving their appointments.
Vandermeer Hair is located in the heart of the vibrant Surry Hills neighbourhood on Bourke St. Only a stone's throw from the bustle of the Sydney CBD, yet feels as though it is an oasis far removed from everyday life. Each client is treated with a spa-like ritual and service, ensuring they leave the salon not only feeling beautiful and fresh, but as though they have taken a moment to truly check in with themselves.
Our vision is to create an experience for our clients which extends far beyond their visit to the salon. By the use of small rituals such as burning Palo Santo, crystals, serving tea blends which are nourishing for the nervous system and a hand ritual to start your appointment, we hope to spark an enquiry into further self-care and nourishment.

Carly and Matt are such friendly people and the salon is incredibly calming. The treatment is very personal and the care and attention to detail Matt took whilst doing my hair, is unmatched. So happy to have found this place and won’t be going anywhere else!

Wonderful, wonderful Salon. They really take time to listen and work with you to ensure you get the haircut you want! The hot towell at the beginning is a lovely relaxing touch.
