Surry Hills hairdresser Carly Van der Meer has worked in top salons for over a decade. She is an expert blonde colourist specialising in highly manageable, healthy, lived-in styles. Beginning her career in her hometown Bowral in the Southern Highlands, she is now Owner and Director of Sydney’s leading salon to relax and unwind – Vandermeer Hair, established in 2018.
With a long history styling for fashion weeks, industry events and editorial shoots, Carly has worked closely with industry leaders in hair, makeup and fashion. Developing her skills alongside the likes of Renya Xydis, Freda Rossidis, Heidi Scarlett- King, David Mallett and Richard Kavanagh, she is now regarded as an up and coming trade expert.

SENIOR STYLIST
Matt’s been perfecting his craft for the last 15 years. Having started his career in North Yorkshire (UK), he trained and worked with a successful salon group where he became a member of the artistic team, assisting backstage at London Fashion Week and creating collections for the British Hairdressing Awards. At 22 he moved to Australia and has worked for a variety of salons across the country, combining his two favourite interests; hair and travel.
Now settled in Sydney, he joins us and welcomes all our wonderful clients. Whilst taking a keen interest in what hair trends dictate, he believes that what’s most important is meeting the client’s needs and tailoring hair to the individual. Wearable, touchable, lived in hair is his thing. But equally loves the structure and precision of Sassoon inspired work.

Bianca Hobson
SENIOR STYLIST
Bianca, originally from the Sunshine Coast town of Coolum, started her hairdressing journey at the age of 16. With a solid 9 years of experience under her belt, she decided to take a detour into the world of wine, moving from the Sunny Coast to Byron Bay.
In Byron, Bianca immersed herself in the wine industry, working with a local winemaker, as well as a natural wine store. Despite her new career, Bianca never fully stepped away from her first love—hairdressing, as she continued to freelance on the side.
Bianca's expertise lies in lived-in styles, curling haircuts, and crafting short hairstyles for women. Her values are centred on thorougher consultations, achieving clients' desired results, and ensuring they feel comfortable throughout the process. Known for her calm demeanour, super creative mind, and deep understanding, Bianca is a true people person who effortlessly engages with everyone she meets.
